SACRAMENTO, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- DeMarcus Cousins scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Monday, helping Sacramento hold off Golden State 94-92 for its first win of the season.

Marcus Thornton added 16 points for the Kings, who nearly blew a late eight-point lead but survived to break a season-opening three-game skid in their first home contest.

Aaron Brooks contributed 12 points in the victory.

Golden State's Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson each misfired on potential go-ahead shots with less than 5 seconds left.

Thompson ended with 22 points and seven boards while David Lee supplied 20 points in the Warriors' loss.
