HOUSTON, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Adam Moffat and Will Bruin each scored Sunday in Houston's 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of a conference semifinal series.

Moffat struck in the 18th minute on a half-volley past diving K.C. goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen. Bruin followed up in the 75th minute off a cross from Calen Carr.

It was the third goal in two post-season games for Bruin.

The Dynamo remained undefeated against the Eastern Conference regular-season champions in four meetings this year.

The second leg will be in Kansas City to determine a berth in the Eastern Conference championship series against either D.C. United or Red Bull New York.
