NBA: Oklahoma City 106, Portland 92

OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Russell Westbrook had 32 points Friday and Kevin Durant flirted with a triple-double in pacing Oklahoma City past Portland 106-92.

The Thunder made 51 percent of their shots while Portland was only 35 percent from the field, but the Trail Blazers made a game of it through most of three quarters.

Westbrook went 13-of-24 from the field in helping Oklahoma City bounce back from a season-opening loss to San Antonio. Durant scored 23 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out seven assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 points to go with 15 rebounds for Portland, which opened the campaign with a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Portland trailed only 67-65 with less than 2 minutes to go in the third period, but the Thunder closed the quarter on a 7-1 run. The Trail Blazers came no closer than five points during the fourth period.
