Calidoscopio, a 9-year-old Argentine-bred, got the 1 3/4 miles on a fast track in 2:57.23 with Aaron Gryder riding for his first-ever Breeders' Cup win.
Calidoscopio, trained by Guillermo Frankel, had 39 previous starts, 38 of them in Argentina and one in Chile. He had won nine of those.
