Sandy forces delay in NFL trade deadline

Oct. 29, 2012 at 3:45 PM   |   Comments

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Hurricane Sandy forced the National Football League to push back its trading deadline 48 hours, league officials said Monday.

Instead of 4 p.m. EDT Tuesday, the deadline is now Thursday.

With Sandy pummeling the East Coast, the NFL decided to shut down its New York offices Monday and Tuesday, making it difficult for teams to submit the paperwork necessary to complete player trades.
