No new winners in Armstrong's Tour races

NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Tour de France races in which Lance Armstrong finished first will not have new winners now that he has been disqualified, the International Cycling Union said.

Armstrong was stripped of his titles for 1998-2005 because of doping and the ICU decided Friday there would be no official victor for those events.

"The Management Committee decided not to award victories to any other rider or upgrade other placings in any of the affected events," the organization said in a written statement.

The Tour championships are not the only consequences Armstrong faces due to the scandal. CNN said the ICU wants him to return prize money and he has lost some lucrative corporate sponsorships.

Armstrong has denied using performance-enhancing drugs to help propel him to the top of the international cycling scene. However, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has banned him from the sport for life and he has dropped his legal battle against the charges.
