MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has shaved his head to support breast cancer awareness.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr., a Minneapolis native, shaved Love's head Saturday night at a downtown Minneapolis barber shop, the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press reported.

On Wednesday, Love posted a video of the event on YouTube in which the two athletes pledged to donate 25 cents for each share, like or view of the video up to a total of $250,000.

Fitzgerald, whose mother died in 2003 of breast cancer, will donate his money to the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Ariz.

Love, who is out for six to eight weeks with a broken right hand, is supporting Bright Pink, a national organization based in Chicago.

Fitzgerald and Love got together while Fitzgerald was in Minneapolis for the Cardinals' game against the Vikings on Sunday at the Metrodome.
