STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Sixth-seeded Mikhail Youzhny breezed to a straight-set win over Brian Baker Monday in the first round of the Stockholm Open tennis tournament.

The Russian veteran defeated the American 6-3, 6-1.

Eighth-seeded Jarkko Nieminen of Finland beat German Tobias Kamke 6-3, 6-4.

Nieminen was runner-up in the event last year to Frenchman Gael Monfils.

The tournament's top seeds are Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France and Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.
