DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- The Detroit Lions confirmed allegations that starting defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was involved in a traffic incident in Michigan.

"We are aware of the reports involving Ndamukong Suh," the team said in a statement. "Since this is a traffic incident, we will defer any comments to the local law enforcement agency that filed a report on the incident this morning [Thursday]."

Dearborn police said they were investigating reports Suh, while driving his Range Rover, sideswiped a vehicle driven by Stephen Vines of Livonia and did not stop after the collision, The Detroit News reported Friday.

Suh has previously been involved in several traffic incidents, one in December that led to a $1 million lawsuit, the report said.
