LINZ, Austria, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Kirsten Flipkens ousted second-seeded Ana Ivanovic in straight sets Friday in the quarterfinals of the Generali Ladies Linz tennis tournament in Austria.

Flipkens stopped Ivanovic 6-4, 6-0. Even though she suffered one break, Flipkens won 70 percent of the points on serve. She took more than two-thirds of the points in a dominant second-set showing.

No. 1-ranked Victoria Azarenka dropped just four games in her quarterfinal, posting a solid 6-2, 6-2 decision over Petra Martic. She won about two-thirds of the points on serve even with having her serve broken once. She also won 57 percent of the points when Martic served.

Fifth-seeded Julia Goerges earned the semifinal slip opposite Flipkens with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Sofia Arvidsson. She converted four of her 11 break-point chances.

Irina-Camelia Begu beat Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-4, 1-6, 6-2. She won 63 percent of the points and had two breaks in the third set.

Azarenka next faces Begu, against whom she has lost just one set in three previous meetings. Goerges and Flipkens have split their two previous meetings, but haven't played each other since 2009.
