ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The $7 million Orlando home of former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warren Sapp is scheduled to be auctioned next month as part of his bankruptcy proceedings.
The 10,000-square-foot house, built in 2005 along a river in a gated Orlando subdivision, features four bedrooms, a two-story wine cellar, a water slide, theater and dock, the (Orlando, Fla.,) Sentinel reported Wednesday.
Sapp, 39, said he had to sell the house to avoid jail time.
He fell into financial difficulties after he invested in a low-income housing property in Fort Pierce. When the housing market soured, his NFL earnings were garnished to pay his debts and his bills went unpaid.
The auction will be auctioned at 11 a.m. Nov. 1 at the Orlando Airport Marriott by Fisher Auction Co. of Pompano Beach.
