Joshua Richardson apparently flew from New Orleans to Newark with a .38-caliber pistol in his carry-on bag after passing through airport security but the weapon was found as he headed for his return flight.
"He flew up from New Orleans on Wednesday and was flying back," an unidentified airport official told the New York Post. "He said he inadvertently took his wife's luggage with the gun stored in its inside pouch."
The gun was indeed registered to Richardson's wife; however, the executive was charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon. He was expected to be released on his own recognizance, the Post said.
