SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Madison Bumgarner yielded one run over six innings and the San Francisco bullpen fired four shutout frames Monday in the Giants' 2-1 win over Colorado.

Bumgarner (15-10) overcame five walks and four hits in breaking a personal four-start winless streak, striking out six en route to the victory.

Guillermo Mota, Jose Mijares, Santiago Casilla and Javier Lopez combined for 3 2/3 scoreless relief frames and Sergio Romo recorded the game's final out for his 12th save.

Hunter Pence's RBI single in the sixth inning against Guillermo Moscoso (3-2) broke a 1-1 tie as National League West-leading San Francisco took the opener of a four-game set.

Josh Rutledge provided the only RBI for the Rockies.
