OTTAWA, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek is recovering after surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle.

The (Ottawa) Citizen reported Monday Michalek was hurt during training in August. The procedure to repair the muscle tear was performed last week in Philadelphia.

It is expected it will take Michalek four to six weeks to recover.

All NHL players have been locked out by the NHL during their collective bargaining dispute.

Michalek posted a career-best 35 goals along with 25 assists in 77 games last season.
