FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Sept. 10 (UPI) -- New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a mild concussion in the Jets' season-opening game and his status for next week's contest is unknown.

Revis, a Pro Bowl selection each of the last four seasons, was injured when he was inadvertently kicked in the head by a teammate on a fourth-quarter play. He didn't return to the game, which the Jets won 48-28 over Buffalo.

"I understand it's a mild concussion," Jets Coach Rex Ryan said Monday. "With any injury, especially a head injury, you're going to err on the side of caution. We'll see how he progresses during the week."

Revis had an interception in the game, giving him 19 in his five-season career.

The Jets play Sunday at Pittsburgh.
