KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Matt Ryan tossed for three touchdowns and ran for another Sunday in the Atlanta Falcons' 40-24 win over Kansas City in the season opener for both teams.
Ryan racked up 299 aerial yards and completed six passes to Julio Jones, who finished with 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Tony Gonzalez haunted his former team with a TD grab for the Falcons (1-0).
The Chiefs (0-1) were led by Matt Cassel, who compiled 258 yards on 21-of-33 passing efficiency -- but was picked off twice.
Dexter McCluster hauled in six receptions for 82 yards and Kevin Boss made a 22-yard TD grab for Kansas City.
