RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Clint Bowyer won the rain-delayed Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway Saturday, while Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon clinched playoff spots.

Bowyer shook off a 90-minute delay at the start of the Federated Auto Parts 400 and another 51-minute shutdown after 152 laps were completed to claim his second win this season.

Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kahne and Gordon grabbed the final two wild card slots for the championship Chase, which begins Sept. 16 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Kahne secured the berth despite a 12th-place finish Saturday, while Gordon rallied after a sluggish start to claim a second-place finish at Richmond.

Finishing third was Mark Martin. Defending Sprint Cup champion secured Tony Stewart the final Chase spot among the Top 10 in points with a fourth-place finish Saturday.

Denny Hamlin ended in 18th place at Richmond but his four wins this season earned him the first seed in the Chase.
