MLB: Minnesota 3, Cleveland 0

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Cole De Vries and three Minnesota relievers combined on a four-hit shutout Saturday, staking the Twins to a 3-0 victory over Cleveland.

De Vries (5-5) won his third consecutive start, baffling the Indians for six innings, limiting them to four hits. The rookie right-hander issued one walk and struck out two, retiring the final 13 batters he faced.

Brian Duensing and Jared Burton each tossed a scoreless inning of relief and Glen Perkins supplied a 1-2-3 ninth for his 11th save as the Twins evened their four-game series at one win apiece.

Joe Mauer, Josh Willingham and Justin Morneau each drove in a run for Minnesota.

Indians starter Zach McAllister (5-7) lasted only three full innings, yielding a pair of runs on two hits and three walks.
