SANDY, Utah, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Will Johnson scored the game's only goal in the 48th minute Saturday, handing Real Salt Lake a 1-0 win over D.C. United.
RSL (14-10-4) registered the decisive tally when Johnson met a cross from Paulo Junior with a header, beating United goalkeeper Bill Hamid to the ball and putting it into the net.

Salt Lake goalie Nick Rimando, meanwhile, posted his 97th career shutout.
D.C. fell to 12-10-5.
The game was delayed for near 1 1/2 hours early in the contest following nearby lightning strikes.
