HOUSTON, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Emergency responders said a 45-year-old man died after falling three stories at Reliant Stadium during a Houston Texans pre-season game.

Investigators said the man was apparently trying to slide down the handrail of an escalator on the northeast side of the stadium and fell, landing on another escalator, SB Nation reported Friday.

Fire department officials said the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Houston Chronicle said a fan reported seeing the man fall during the third quarter of Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings, which the Texans won 28-24.
