CHICAGO, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Jean Segura singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh Wednesday, bringing Milwaukee a 3-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.

The Brewers have defeated the Cubs eight straight times and this victory came with the assistant of three errors and a wild pitch -- all in the seventh inning.

With one out in the seventh Nyjer Morgan reached on a bunt single and went to second on a throwing error by pitcher Jeff Samardzija.

Morgan then advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Segura's single. Segura stole second base, went to third on catcher Welington Castillo's wild throw and came home when second baseman Darwin Barney made a bad throw to third trying to get the runner.

Mike Fiers (8-6) gave up a run on four hits with six strikeouts over 7 1/3 to get the victory. John Axford worked the ninth for his 22nd save.

Samardzija (8-12) was charged with the loss despite a solid outing in which he struck out 10 and did not give up a walk.
