SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Simon Dawkins and Alan Gordon each scored two goals Saturday, powering the San Jose Earthquakes' 4-1 win over Colorado.

Gordon assisted on Dawkins' tally in the 11th minute and then the Earthquakes striker doubled the advantage with a goal of his own shortly before halftime.

After Tyrone Marshall pulled the Rapids (8-16-2) to within one in the 54th minute, Dawkins and Gordon each added second-half goals to clinch the contest for San Jose (15-6-5).

The Earthquakes, who own the MLS' best record, ran their home unbeaten streak to 10-0-4, stretching back to last season, with the decision.
