FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Nick Foles came in after Michael Vick was injured and tossed a pair of touchdowns Monday in the Philadelphia Eagles' 27-17 pre-season win over New England.

Vick hurt his ribs in the first quarter when he was hit by linebacker Jermaine Cunningham as he was releasing a pass.

X-rays indicated the Eagles signal-caller had no broken bones. Team officials said he would undergo more tests Tuesday.

Vick hurt his left thumb in the Eagles' pre-season contest last week against Pittsburgh.

Foles stepped in and threw for 217 yards with an interception to go with his two scoring strikes.

With Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sitting the game out, Ryan Mallett started and went 10-of-20 through the air for 105 yards and a score.

Deion Branch gained 51 yards on three receptions for New England.
