MLB: Baltimore 5, Texas 3

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Nate McLouth's two-run homer highlighted a big fourth inning Tuesday that boosted the Baltimore Orioles to a 5-3 win over Texas.

With the score tied 1-1, the Orioles erupted for four runs in the fifth to grab control of the contest.

Omar Quintanilla reached on a one-out fielder's choice and came home when Manny Machado followed with a go-ahead RBI triple off Scott Feldman (6-9). Machado scored one out later on J.J. Hardy's double.

The next batter, McLouth, blasted a pitch off the facing of the second deck in right field -- his first homer since being promoted Aug. 4 from Class AAA Norfolk.

Chris Tillman (6-2) struck out seven over 6 2/3 innings to earn the win, allowing three runs on six hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Pedro Strop tossed 1 1/3 frames of scoreless relief and Jim Johnson nailed down his 38th save as American League wild-card contender Baltimore evened its three-game series.

Feldman was tagged for five runs (four earned) on seven hits over five frames.

Geovany Soto launched a two-run homer and Ian Kinsler added a solo shot for the AL West-leading Rangers.
