SYLVANIA, Ohio, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Sweden's Pernilla Lindberg took the first-round lead at the Jamie Farr Owens Toledo Classic Thursday with a solid 7-under-par 64 at Highland Meadows.

Lindberg, who is looking for her first LPGA victory, was flawless except for a bogey on the 13th hole and wrapped up the day two shots clear of six other competitors all tied for second place.

Lindberg hit 16 of 18 greens in regulation and hit several long putts. She birdied the par-5 18th from about 25 feet. "It felt like every putt I hit had a chance to go in," she said. "So even the pars I made out there, they were still good birdie chances."

Yani Tseng, the women's world No. 1 player, carded a double-bogey and finished at 1-over 73.

The Farr has not been played since 2010 when it was won by Na Yeon Choi, who shot a 1-under 70 Thursday. The event did not take place last year because the organizers were tied up hosting the U.S. Senior Open.
