ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Alex Cobb tamed the Blue Jays on one run over seven innings Wednesday, staking the Tampa Bay Rays to a 3-2 decision over Toronto.

Joel Peralta turned in a scoreless eighth and Fernando Rodney nailed down his 34th save as the Rays clinched their three-game series and stayed in hot pursuit of an American League wild card berth.
