NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Giancarlo Stanton went 4-for-5, belting two homers en route to four RBI Wednesday in the Miami Marlins' 13-0 rout of the New York Mets.
Stanton's two-run shot in the first inning followed Jose Reyes' solo blast and staked the Marlins to a quick 3-0 lead.
He added another two-run homer in the fifth as Miami cruised to a series-clinching win at Citi Field.
Bryan Peterson chipped in with a bases-clearing triple and Greg Dobbs also contributed a two-run shot as the Marlins banged out 13 hits.
Nathan Eovaldi (3-7) surrendered six walks but still managed to toss five shutout innings to earn the victory. He gave up four hits and struck out two.
Mets starter Chris Young (3-6) was rocked for seven runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings.
