RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Forward Jeff Skinner, the NHL's Calder Trophy winner in 2011, has been given a six-year contract extension by the Carolina Hurricanes, the team said Wednesday.
Skinner, 20, is playing under an entry-level agreement that runs through next season. The new deal covers the period 2013-19. He is to be paid $4.35 million in 2013-14 and $6 million a season over the next five seasons.
