LONDON, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Sandra Raluca Izbasa of Romania won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in the gymnastics vault event.

McKalya Maroney of the United States was awarded the silver. Maria Paseka of Russia took the bronze.
