Olympic Medal: W Team Pursuit Cycling

LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Britain won the Olympic gold medal Saturday in the inaugural women's team pursuit cycling race.

The British team of Dani King, Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell set a world record in defeating the silver medal winning United States squad in the finals.

Canada won the bronze medal in the third-place race over Australia.
