Sergio Garcia said Tiger Woods fried chicken remark not racist

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Jonathon Niese went seven strong innings Wednesday and the New York Mets held off San Francisco 2-1 for their fifth win since the All-Star break.
Niese (8-5) struck out five and held the Giants scoreless until the sixth inning, when Buster Posey drilled a solo home run into the left-field seats.
The Mets defense helped out with four double plays. New York had 19 base runners in all, including nine who reached base on walks and another hit by a pitch.
Ruben Tejada led off the game with a home run off Matt Cain (10-4), who took the loss, allowing two runs on seven hits in five innings. Jordany Valdespin accounted for the Mets' second run on a force out in the second inning.
