LONDON, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Angel McCoughtry's 18 points led the way Wednesday in the United States' 89-58 win over Turkey that kept the American women unbeaten in Olympic basketball.
Team USA improved to 3-0 in group play and ran its Olympic winning streak to 36 games.
China also remained unbeaten in Group A with a 76-52 win over Angola and the Chinese will meet the Americans in the final game of group play next Sunday.
In the other Group A game Wednesday, the Czech Republic defeated Croatia 89-70. The Czechs will play the Americans on Friday.
Russia and France stayed unbeaten and on top of Group B.
France edged Canada 64-60 and Russia held off Britain 67-61. The French and Russians will meet on the final day of group action.
The United States had a 16-point lead over Turkey heading into the fourth quarter, which is a smaller advantage than the Americans usually have had in the Olympics, and then outscored the opposition 26-11 over the final 10 minutes.
Tina Charles added 16 points for the United States.
