ANAHEIM, Calif., July 28 (UPI) -- Dan Haren and three Los Angeles relievers teamed up on a six-hitter Friday, staking the Angels to a 3-1 decision over Tampa Bay.

Haren (8-8) turned in his second straight strong start since returning from the disabled list, taming the Rays on one run over six innings.

The right-hander issued one walk and struck out six for the Angels, who won for the fourth time in six contests and took the opener of a three-game set.

Kevin Jepsen and Scott Downs each tossed a scoreless inning and Ernesto Frieri collected his 12th save with a 1-2-3 ninth to secure the victory.

Albert Pujols went 3-for-4 with two-run double for Los Angeles, who earlier Friday announced they had acquired pitcher Zack Greinke in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Rays starter Alex Cobb (4-8) absorbed the defeat, allowing three runs on eight hits in a seven-inning effort.

Jeff Keppinger had three hits, including a solo homer, for Tampa Bay.
