The Brewers staff ace went to the Angels in exchange for shortstop Jean Segura and Class AA pitchers Ariel Pena and Johnny Hellweg.

Greinke has compiled a 9-3 record with a 3.44 ERA in 21 starts for Milwaukee this season. Stretching back to last year, the right-hander has won 15 straight home starts -- the longest such streak in franchise history.

He has compiled an 85-76 record with a 3.79 ERA in 259 career games, including 218 starts.

Greinke goes to a second-place Angels team that is five games behind the Texas Rangers in the American League West but is tied for the lead in the AL wild-card standings.

The key player for Milwaukee in the deal is 22-year-old Segura, who was batting .294 with seven homers and 40 RBI in 94 games for Class AA Arkansas.

Lerner negotiating Browns sale to Haslam

BEREA, Ohio, July 27 (UPI) -- Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner said Friday he is negotiating to sell a controlling interest in the team to Tennessee businessman Jimmy Haslam.

Lerner issued a statement confirming Haslam -- a current minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers -- is in the process of making "an investment" in the Browns.

"In connection with current rumors and press inquiries, I can report that I've been approached by Mr. Jimmy Haslam, who is interested in making an investment in the Cleveland Browns," Lerner said in a statement. "We are currently in negotiations and both sides have agreed to keep that dialogue and its details private.

"Given that any transaction would require League approval, care has been taken so that this process will not be disruptive to the organization, in particular the football team, as it prepares for the upcoming season. We will share further details or make an announcement if it becomes necessary."

Browns President Mike Holmgren confirmed Haslam's offer following Friday's practice.

"(Lerner) was very, very concerned with and interested in the right person stepping forward if he was going to sell the football team and apparently all the stars aligned in the last few months," he said.

Fred Nance, a senior adviser to Lerner, told the newspaper "(Lerner) has an unequivocal commitment from Haslam to never move the Browns. He made that a prerequisite before entering into negotiations."

"The Cleveland Browns aren't going anywhere," Holmgren added. "The Cleveland Browns are the Cleveland Browns and they're going to stay."

The team is tied to a 30-year lease through 2029 with Cleveland Browns Stadium and Mayor Frank Jackson has stated the city would sue if there was any attempt to break the lease and move the team.

Haslam, the president of the nation's largest chain of truckstops, is the younger brother of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.

Jags players face fines for injury talk

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 27 (UPI) -- Jacksonville Jaguars Coach Mike Mularkey says he will fine players who publicly discuss their injuries, a move the NFL Players Association will likely oppose.

Mularkey told The Florida Times-Union he has put Jaguars players on notice that if they talk to the media or anyone else about the status of their injuries, he will levy $10,000 fines.

"Anything I know about a guy, anything I know is hurting on him, any comment he makes will play into how (opponents) attack a team or a position," Mularkey told the newspaper. "I just don't think it's anybody else's business."

The coach said he "will be the only voice" when it comes to information about players' injuries so as not to give opposing teams an advantage.

Mularkey's declaration, however, may prompt a fight from the NFL Players Association, a union source whose name was not reported told CBS Sports.

The broadcaster said the source indicated the union viewed the Jaguars' position as an "extreme" one that has triggered "a great deal of anger in the locker room."

An NFLPA investigation into the situation is ongoing, the report said.

2-time Olympian dies in Ariz. plane crash

SEDONA, Ariz., July 27 (UPI) -- A two-time Olympcs distance runner and his 15-year-old son were killed in a small-plane crash in Arizona on the eve of the Summer Olympics, his wife said.

Pat Porter, 53, and his son Connor were among three people killed when his Beechcraft B-60 twin-turboprop aircraft crashed and burst into flames around 9 a.m. MST (noon EDT) Thursday after taking off from small, non-towered Sedona Airport, Trish Porter, a former Olympic high jumper, told reporters Friday.

Their son's friend and classmate, 14-year-old Connor Mantsch, was also killed in the crash, Porter said in Albuquerque, her hometown.

Sedona Airport can make takeoffs and landings difficult, pilots say.

"You always have gusts here. Updrafts downdrafts -- it's just a predicament. All pilots have that taking off and landing here," pilot Stephen Loftin told KSAZ-TV, Phoenix.

The airport sits on a mesa with steep cliffs almost 5,000 feet above sea level.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are to investigate the crash.

Pat Porter ran the 10,000 meters at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles and the 1988 Summer Games in Seoul.

In 1983, he set a world record for a road 10K long-distance running event, at 27 minutes, 31.8 seconds. He won the major Northeastern U.S. 10K Kingston Classic in Kingston, N.Y., in 1985 and 1986, the Kingston Daily Freeman reported Friday.

Porter won the silver medal at the 1985 IAAF World Cup in Athletics international track and field event in Canberra, Australia, getting nipped at the tape by Ethiopia's Wodajo Bulti by six-hundredths of a second. The International Association of Athletics Federations event is now called the IAAF Continental Cup.

Porter was best known for his cross-country running, winning a record eight consecutive USA Cross Country Championships from 1982 to 1989.

He married high-jump record-holder Trish King in 1991. The two met during the 1988 Olympics, Trish Porter's Web site says.

They also have a daughter, Shannon, age 11.
