All of his titles, and a runner-up finish a week ago in Germany, came on clay courts. In fact, of the 15 tournaments in which Monaco reached the finals in his career, 14 were on clay.

Monaco moves from 14th to No. 10 this week. Nicolas Almagro, whom Monaco beat in the semifinals Saturday, slips from 10th to No. 12.

Roger Federer retains the No. 1 spot with 11,075 points with Novak Djokovic second at 11,000. Rafael Nadal (8,905) is third and Andy Murray has 7,460 points for fourth.

David Ferrer's total of 5,455 is fifth best and ahead of No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (5,230) and seventh-ranked Tomas Berdych (4,515). Janko Tipsarevic is eighth, totaling 3,320 points and Juan Martin del Potro (3,180) is ninth. Monaco has 2,695 points.
