Lions release Aaron Berry after 2nd arrest

ALLEN PARK, Mich., July 23 (UPI) -- Cornerback Aaron Berry was cut by the Detroit Lions Monday, two days after his second arrest this off-season.

Berry, a 24-year-old entering his third NFL season, was arrested Saturday in Harrisburg, Pa., for allegedly brandishing a firearm. He was arrested in June on suspicion of driving under the influence and other counts.

The Lions issued a release stating Berry was released due to "personal conduct which adversely affects the club."

Berry, signed in 2010 after going undrafted following a collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh, appeared in 12 NFL games in the last two seasons. He was credited with 31 tackles and 11 passes defended last year.
