Lions Berry arrested in Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, Pa., July 22 (UPI) -- Police in Pennsylvania said they arrested Detroit Lions cornerback Aaron Berry on assault and gun charges this weekend.

Berry was arrested for the second time this month early Saturday by Harrisburg police, who did not supply any details on the alleged incident.

"I'm limited in what I can provide because it's a pending investigation," a police officer told the Detroit Free Press. "It looks like he was charged with three counts of simple assault and there was a firearm involved."

Berry was apparently booked and released.

The Free Press said Berry was the seventh Lions player to be arrested in as many months. Berry was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol this summer after he reportedly drove into two parked cars.

The Lions had no immediate comment on Berry's latest brush with the law. The team said in a written statement the front office was still gathering the details from police.
