Wiggins leads Tour de France

CHARTRES, France, July 21 (UPI) -- Bradley Wiggins of Great Britain won Saturday's 19th stage of the Tour de France and leads the epic race heading into Sunday's final stage.

Wiggins holds a lead of 3 minutes, 21 seconds over teammate Christopher Froome with only the grand finale through the streets of Paris remaining.

Wiggins completed Saturday's stage, a time-trial run of 53.5-kilometers (33 miles) from Bonneval to Chartres, in 1 hour, 4 minutes, 13 seconds. Froome placed second and Luis Leon Sanchez of Spain took third.

Wiggins, who also won Stage 9, is considered to hold a nearly insurmountable lead heading into Sunday.
