
DETROIT, July 17 (UPI) -- Mike Trout went 4-for-6 with a two-run homer, one of five long balls launched by the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday in their 13-0 rout of Detroit.
Mark Trumbo and Alberto Callaspo added three-run shots while Albert Pujols (3-for-4, two RBI) and Kendrys Morales chipped in with bases-empty clouts as the Angels banged out 18 hits.
Howie Kendrick added three hits for Los Angeles, which evened the four-game series at one win apiece.
Garrett Richards (3-1) tossed seven shutout innings, shutting the Tigers down on three hits to earn the victory. The right-hander worked around four walks while striking out two.
David Carpenter completed the shutout with two scoreless frames.
Tigers starter Jacob Turner (0-1) was pounded for seven runs on six hits over just two innings.
