ATLANTA, July 14 (UPI) -- Michael Bourn, Martin Prado and Jason Heyward each had RBI singles in the eighth inning Saturday, rallying Atlanta to an 8-7 win over the New York Mets.
Trailing 7-5 entering the frame, the Braves sent eight men to the plate off Pedro Beato and Bobby Parnell (2-2) to grab the lead, with Heyward delivering the go-ahead blow on a run-scoring single to left-center.
Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with a two-run double, while Bourn and Eric Hinske each finished with two RBI as the Braves clinched the three-game series.
Anthony Varvaro (1-0) got the victory with a scoreless top of the eighth inning and Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the ninth for his MLB-best 27th save as the Braves won their sixth straight.
Ike Davis went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and Andres Torres went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Mets.
