DENVER, July 12 (UPI) -- Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams, appealing a six-game drug suspension in court, failed a second drug test, court records indicate.

The documents, submitted in court in Williams' attempt to overturn his suspension for the second time for a failed performance-enhancing drug test in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colo., also mentioned he was involved in an incident in a third test in which a bottle fell from his waist while he was providing a urine sample.

In August 2011, and again in September 2011, Williams provided urine samples to a National Football League-approved drug tester that were identified as non-human or synthetic urine by toxicologists, The Denver Post reported Thursday. In a third test in November 2011, a specimen collector said he saw Williams appear to drop a specimen bottle, then kick it away.

"The evidence is clear that Williams was involved in three separate incidents of attempted substitution of a specimen," hearing officer Harold Henderson wrote in a letter rejecting Williams' first appeal of his suspension.
