Potter makes big jump in golf rankings

VIRGINIA WATER, England, July 9 (UPI) -- Ted Potter Jr.'s first PGA Tour victory elevated him from No. 218 to 83rd in the world golf rankings Monday.

Potter, a 28-year-old Floridian, won the Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., on the third hole of a playoff against Troy Kelly Sunday.

Luke Donald kept the No. 1 spot in the world rankings.

Completing the Top 5 are, in order, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Tiger Woods and Webb Simpson.

Next are Bubba Watson (6), Jason Duffner (7), Matt Kuchar (8), Justin Rose (9) and Hunter Mahan (10).
