MLB: Texas 4, Minnesota 3 (10 innings)

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 7 (UPI) -- Nelson Cruz cracked a double in the 10th inning Saturday, scoring Adrian Beltre with the game-winner for Texas in the Rangers' 4-3 decision over Minnesota.

Beltre led off the bottom of the 10th with a single off Kyle Waldrop (0-1) and Cruz following by lining an 0-2 pitch into the left field corner.

The ball momentarily eluded Minnesota outfielder Josh Willingham, allowing Beltre to beat the throw to the plate and slide home with the decisive run, which snapped the Rangers' five-game losing streak.

Beltre finished 3-for-5 with a solo homer and three runs scored. Cruz added three hits and two RBI for Texas.

Josh Hamilton added his 27th homer of the year -- a solo shot -- in the victory.

Former Twin Joe Nathan (1-2) earned his first win as a Ranger, tossing two scoreless innings to finish the contest.

Willingham socked a solo shot, while Trevor Plouffe and Brian Dozier drove in runs for Minnesota.

Samuel Deduno made his first major-league start for the Twins, yielding three runs on six hits over six innings.
