NEW YORK, July 5 (UPI) -- Texas pitcher Yu Darvish and St. Louis third baseman David Freese have been voted into the All-Star Game by online fan balloting, MLB announced Thursday.

Fans vote on baseball's Web site each year to determine the final spot on the American and National League rosters.

The 25-year-old Darvish, in his rookie season after enjoying an outstanding early career in his native Japan, has gone 10-5 for the Rangers with a 3.59 ERA.

Freese was the MVP of last year's World Series, in which the Cardinals defeated Texas.
