LOS ANGELES, July 4 (UPI) -- Aaron Harang ended a four-start winless streak Wednesday by giving up a lone run in seven innings, bringing the Los Angeles Dodgers a 4-1 win over Cincinnati.

Harang (6-5) allowed three hits and struck out five in one of his most solid outings of the season. The three hits equaled his low total of the campaign, when he gave up three hits to Oakland June 19, but walked eight in that game and suffered the loss.

The Dodgers scored three times in the first inning, and Harang and two relievers protected the lead.

Four consecutive Los Angeles batters reached to open the first, with Dee Gordon producing a double and Luis Cruz, Bobby Abreu and James Loney each delivering a single.

That outburst accounted for two runs and a fielder's choice grounder from Adam Kennedy brought in another. Kennedy added a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Mike Leake (3-5) pitched well after the first-inning lapse, but took the loss.

Kenley Jansen struck out two in a perfect ninth for his 14th save.

The only Cincinnati run came on a fifth-inning homer by Devin Mesoraco.
