ATLANTA, June 28 (UPI) -- Chris Young snapped a tie with a ninth-inning home run Thursday that gave the Arizona Diamondbacks a 3-2 decision over Atlanta.

The long ball came off Atlanta closer Craig Kimbrel (0-1), who had not given up a home run since last September.

Atlanta took an early lead on an RBI double by Brian McCann in the third and Michael Bourn's sacrifice fly in the fourth.

Jason Kubel rallied the Diamondbacks into a 2-2 tie in the sixth with a two-run double.

Young's homer in the ninth came on a 2-2 pitch after Kimbrel had retired the first batter of the inning.

David Hernandez (1-1) picked up the win by pitching the eighth. J.J. Putz turned in a perfect ninth for his 14th save.
