WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., June 26 (UPI) -- Olympic veterans Andy Roddick and Serena and Venus Williams have been chosen for the U.S. team to compete in tennis at the Summer Games in London.

Venus Williams won the women's tennis singles gold in 2000 and teamed with sister Serena to take doubles titles in 2000 and in 2008. They are also entered in doubles this year, U.S. tennis officials announced Tuesday.

They will be joined on the women's side by Christina McHale and Varvara Lepchenko in singles. World No. 1 doubles team of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond was also selected for the U.S. team.

Roddick is a veteran of the 2004 Olympics. The other singles players for the United States will be John Isner, Ryan Harrison and Donald Young. Bob and Mike Bryan, who won bronze in 2008, will be one U.S. men's doubles team and Isner and Roddick were paired for the other.

The United States will have two mixed doubles teams, which will be selected from the 12 U.S. players at the Games.

The U.S. men's coach is Jay Berger. Mary Joe Fernandez will coach the women.

The Olympic tennis competition is scheduled for July 28-Aug. 5. The tennis competition is to take place on the same courts on which the Wimbledon Championships are being contested.
