PHOENIX, June 24 (UPI) -- Wade Miley held the Cubs to three hits over eight innings Sunday and the Arizona Diamondbacks posted a 5-1 win to complete a three-game sweep of Chicago.
Miley (9-3) turned in his fourth straight start in which he has allowed only one run, lowering his ERA to 2.19. The rookie left-hander struck out seven and issued only one walk in the dominating performance.
Justin Upton went 2-for-4 with three RBI on a pair of run-scoring singles, while Jason Kubel added a solo homer for the D-backs, who won for the 15th time in 22 games.
Cubs starter Matt Garza (3-6) was touched for three runs on five hits in a seven-inning effort.
Alfonso Soriano went 2-for-4 with a solo homer for Chicago, which fell to a major-league worst 24-48.
