SAINTE-JULIE, Quebec, June 23 (UPI) --
Bob Tway's tournament-low round of 7-under 65 Saturday vaulted him into the lead after two rounds of the Montreal Championship.
Tway drained six straight birdies during the stellar round, finishing the day at 9-under 135 while seeking his first career Champions Tour crown.
The performance at La Vallee du Richelieu Golf Club was good enough for a 1-shot lead over Mark Calcavecchia, who carded a 5-under 67 to end at minus-8.
Sharing third place one stroke further back were Champions Tour money leader Michael Allen (69), Hale Irwin (68), Russ Cochran (71) and Jay Don Blake (67).
