LONDON, June 22 (UPI) -- The London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games said about 50,000 extra tickets are hitting the market with just over a month until the opening ceremony.

LOCOG said it still has about 450,000 tickets to sell and 50,000 extra tickets are hitting the market as seating plans for the various venues become finalized, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

The committee said the amount of available seating for the temporary venues, including the yet-to-be-completed beach volleyball stadium, could not be determined until the structures neared completion.

"More great tickets to watch Olympic sport have gone on sale today. Further tickets will be released on an almost daily basis from now until Games time," said Chris Townshend, commercial director for LOCOG.
